What a crazy day we had on Saturday! Ty woke up at 5a.m. with a 103.9 fever. I immediately start panicing; all I can think of is Addison's bday party. I took him to the dr. at 8:30 to get him checked out. No strep!! YEAH! Dr. says he must have a little virus, nothing to worry about.
During this time, Rob and Nate are headed to Westlake to play in a football tournament. Nate played 3 games on Saturday and I missed all of them because of Addison's party. SAD! I'm sure this will be happening more often as the kids get older and more involved in activities.
My mom is with Addison at my house getting ready for the party, THANKS MOM!!!! After the dr. appt, Ty and I run errands to get stuff for party.
My cake was supposed to be ready at 10a.m. at the local bakery, SUGARBAKERS. I tell the girl I'm there to pick up my cake and she says, "Oh sorry, we don't have it decorated!!!!" HOLY MOLY!!!! I wait for 20 more minutes and still not ready. Finally, I tell the owner, my daughter's party is in 10 minutes, let me see the cake. I about died when I saw it!! HORRIBLE!!! Nate could have made a better cake. I start crying and freaking out!!! The owner tried to give it to me for free but there was NO way I was letting my girl see that cake, it wasn't even decorated. It was a white lopsided cake. The big question I want to know????? Why couldn't they call me and let me know that my cake wasn't going to be ready on time. Then, I wouldn't have had an emotional break down. I could have been prepared!!!!
My sister saved the day, she ran to WalMart real fast and showed up with the cutest cakes ever for Addison. WAY CHEAPER too! Thanks Sissy!!!!
Anyway, Addison had no clue that her mommy was a nut job trying to get ready for her party. Everything turned out perfectly!!!
Cute girls!
*If you live in CP, don't use Sugarbakers bakery!!!!!
*If you are interested in Kiwi for your party, send me a message, I'll get you the info. She was great!!!!
* Thanks again mom and Sandi for saving the day!!!!!
* Happy birthday to my sweet girl!
* As I'm posting, Ty's fever is way down. Only 24 hour bug. YEAH!
Thanks to all our friends for sharing this special day with Addison!!

Oh my goodness, Brandi! How stressful, I would've felt the exact same! Thank God you have an awesome mom and sister who were there to save the day! Hope Ty is feeling better now and I know Addison totally enjoyed that party. Kiwi = too cool!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow...you poor thing! I am usually a wreck before a big event...that cake incident would have put me over the EDGE! GRRRR! But...Addison looks over the moon happy in every.single.pix....great job mom! It looks like a fantastic party! And oh goodness...Princess Kiwi? We have NOTHING like this around here! I've been saying now that face painting is a hit with little ones and that I should do it...maybe I could become a Princess Kiwi? Ha, ha! I hope they make that outfit in a xxxl! Not sure that the spandex and sparkle panty hose would do much for my body! :) :) :) I'm sending you an email about XMas ideas for our little guys!
ReplyDeleteBless your heart so glad the party was a success anyway. Pics are way cute and so is her bday outfit!! I'm so like you I would have died, but things like that help us put things in perspective ~ I care WAYYY more about all the details than the kiddos!! xoxo WEndy
ReplyDeleteOMG I just had a flashback from Kelcee's B-Day! If you go back and read the post I did in October, the hubs went to pick up the cake and it wasn't even MADE, they lost the ticket and didn't make it but we spoke with the manager and they had to rush and make a cake and it made it just in time to the party, I too cried, yet Kelcee had no idea the drama behind her party, she had a blast! Glad your sister came to the rescue, the cakes are so cute, wow what a great Fairy she did an awesome job on the girls and those balloons are fantastic!! I want one LOL...
ReplyDeleteOK so what a great friend to bring you a gift to cheer you up!!
Glad the party was a success and Addison looks so presh....
